Emily Penman, MD, FACS
DEACS President Emily Penman, M.D. is the Medical Director of the Breast Center at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. Dr. Penman is the Associate Vice-Chair of the Department of Surgery and the medical director of operating rooms for Christiana Care. A graduate of Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia, Dr. Penman also served her internship and residency there in general surgery.


President-Elect
DEACS President-Elect Edward Alexander, M.D. is the Medical Director of Trauma Services at Bayhealth Medical Center. Dr. Alexander hold an advanced degree from University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Alexander’s specialties are general/vascular/thoracic surgery.



Secretary/Treasurer
Glen Tinkoff, MD, DEACS Secretary/Treasurer is the Associate Vice Chairman, Department of Surgery at Christiana Care Health System, where he oversees acute surgical services. He has also recently assumed the role as Christiana Care’s Medical Director of the Virtual Education and Simulation Training (VEST) Center, a 9,000 sq ft virtual hospital. His special interests are in trauma systems, reoperative surgery, surgical endoscopy, and surgical nutritional support.



Governor
DEACS Governor to the College is Diana Dickson-Witmer, M.D. is the Assistant Medical Director of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center and chairs the Committee of Aprovals of the Commission on Cancer which sets standards for 1465 approved cancer programs in the U.S.. A graduate of the University of Florida College of Medicine, Dr. Dickson-Witmer served her residency there, as well as the Medical Center of Delaware, where she was chief of surgical residency.
